The Living Optics Camera is a VIS-NIR video-rate hyperspectral imaging camera. Developers can now see the whole image, capturing both spatial and spectral information in real-time at video frame rates. Engineered to integrate the capabilities of spectral imaging into computer vision and empower developers to explore and harness the advantages of hyperspectral imaging in their applications.
The new high-speed hyperspectral imaging system is achieved by co-optimising a combination of hyperspectral reconstruction, neural networks, coded aperture designs, and optical architectures, providing more than 10x the data per pixel captured by traditional RGB cameras. This is differentiated from standard hyperspectral imaging in that it operates at video rates – a first in hyperspectral imaging, opening up new application areas and significantly improving precision in computer vision applications such as detection, identification, segmentation and object tracking.
